Ciao, Bellas!

I’m coming to you fresh from the beaches of Belize with a heart full of sweet stories to share. I just spent six days on the Rediscover Desire in Paradise retreat with the magical Dev Darshan and a group of wonderful women learning how to reconnect with ourselves and align with our soul’s desires.

There’s a bit of inspiration in this one for everyone so let’s dive in!

THE RETREAT:

Our leader, Dev Darshan, was divinely fit to lead our group on this journey. She warmly encouraged each of us to share and declare our deepest desires and we were led in tools, techniques and mantras designed to help us identify what’s getting in the way of what we want and ultimately becoming aligned so we may receive every bit of what we desire.

The practices and gifts Dev Darshan shared with all of the women were wonderfully healing and the progress each of us made was palpable throughout the entire experience.

THE LOCATION:

Our location, Thatch Caye Resort, was as close to heaven on earth as you can possibly get. Located on a little island surrounded by aquamarine waters, it offered that blissful balance of community and privacy you crave on retreat.

From the floating yoga deck and Starfish Bar to the playground and swings set out in the water, this resort offered the perfect opportunities for true, grounded play. As a group of all women, each of us there to get back in touch with our bodies and desires, this safe, sweet location was just the setting we needed to allow for reconnection, nourishment and transformation to take root.

THE ACTIVITIES:

Throughout the journey, Dev Darshan led our group through Kundalini yoga, Pranayama, breath work, journaling exercises and group work designed to guide us through the process of getting clear on what we desire. These juicy practices were complimented with plenty of time for fun and exploration of the paradise around us.

Between mindful practices we went on an epic snorkeling trip where we swam across two types of turtles, dolphins and all sorts of fish. We were even lucky enough to see a dance performance by the local Garifuna tribe among the stars and sands.

Although, when I look back on the experience that truly set this retreat on fire, I come back to the beautiful practices Dev Darshan introduced that allowed us to release the old and welcome the new. To accomplish this, she had each of us write down the old stories we were holding on to that were getting in the way of our desires coming through, then we released them into a bonfire. She then led us in making our own malas and infusing them with our desires so as we return home, we are always reminded that we are able to have all that we want.

This retreat was an amazing example of combining mindful practice with play and watching the bountiful fruits that come from each.

My gratitude is so strong for Thatch Caye and their incredible staff that made this experience the success that it was. From the bottom of my heart, I thank Dev Darshan for using her gifts to lift up and nourish each and every one of the women who joined us for this retreat. And of course, endless thanks to the women who were courageous enough to release their old stories and welcome their desires without fear or resistance.
