Mayan Fire Ceremony
A Mayan spiritual guide will share a traditional Mayan Day Count Fire Ceremony with your group. You will be encouraged to participate in this interactive earth-work ceremony. This ritual includes foundational teachings about the Mayan calendar day count and the co-creation of the sacred fire. In this colorful custom, you’ll use chocolate, candles, cinnamon, myrrh, copal (tree resin) and the appropriate herbs to honor the energies of each day in the Mayan calendar.
Shamanic Sound Healing Ceremony
Join us for this expansive sound immersion and vibrational healing. The facilitator will use a collection of crystal bowls, chimes, gongs, vocals and other sacred sound instruments to take you on a deeply relaxing journey. You will experience a profusion of vibrational sound waves that will help release stored tension while balancing the emotional body. Allow the harmonic intelligence and the power of shamanic healing to sweep away all that no longer serves. You will return refreshed, relieved and inspired to expand into your full potential.

Hello Beautiful Soul, I am Dana Theresa. I embody a powerful connection to the Earth and a strong affinity to the stars. My empathic tendencies and sensitivity to the energy of others called me to become a nurse and ultimately a holistic healer. On my journey to becoming my passion, I longed for a mentor who could answer my burning questions and support me when I doubted myself and my gifts. This is what inspired me to be a guide and mentor for other empathic souls and healers, like you.
The experiences I create for others go beyond the surface level to where we can uncover the richness and beauty of who you truly are. The work I offer brings together the magic and healing of all the modalities that were an integral part of my healing path. Villa Sumaya Retreat Center
Villa Sumaya Retreat Center is situated on the picturesque shores of Lake Atitlan in the heart of the Guatemalan highlands. Featured in Yoga Journal and Taschen’s Great Yoga Retreats, we offer a uniquely inviting destination. Villa Sumaya is ideal for groups in search of rest, reflection, cultural immersion, adventure and natural beauty. Our exotic thatch-roofed complexes encompass 22 comfortable, elegantly-decorated guest rooms with patios, as well as four stunning practice studios. - The 2 private bungalows feature queen beds, unique bathrooms, outdoor seating and magnificent views of the lake. Perched romantically on the hillside, these rooms require a climb up several sets of stairs.
