Soul Portraits Painting Retreat Salt Spring Island

Painting | Yoga | Workshops
with Autumn Skye

Stowel Lake Farm, Salt Spring Island, British Colombia May 30 – June 7, 2022

Take a Journey To Find Your Creative Self

Working on your own canvas, you will be supported and guided step-by-step to paint your own Soul Portrait, a personal journey into the Creative Self. Working in layers of acrylic paint and translucent glazes, you will be invited to look deeply into yourself and discover new elements that embellish your portrait, and bring depth and personal symbolism into your piece.

Autumn Skye offers attentive and comprehensive art instruction, giving balanced emphasis on cultivating creative intuition, as well as developing skilled technique and learning portraiture.

Autumn seeks to share her own creative process, which allows the artist “to release judgment, move past our mind, breathe deep into the process, and find bliss in each step. We realize that we are boundlessly assisted in the authentic & heart-centered expression of our personal creative path. We show up, diligently do the “work” and leave the rest up to spirit to move through us.”

All painting levels welcome!

PLUS this retreat features special additions with some of our favorite collaborators!

“Retreat Mama” Una Viggiani will be teaching yoga and handling all the stuff and things!

Let’s Find Time To Talk

Retreat Leader

Autumn Skye has been painting since she could hold a brush, developing a deep wonder for nature and the world around her. Amidst journeys to explore the world and share inspiration with the ever blossoming community, Autumn Skye otherwise lives and paints in her home north of Powell River on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada.

In her studio, she overlooks a sweeping expanse of ocean, islands, mountains, and sky.  She considers herself among the blessed of the blessed.

Also Featuring

Andrea Shanti is a master herbalist and proprietor of Holistic Body Therapy, an internationally distributed line of wild-crafted and plant-based health products. Certified in shamanic studies, yoga, and massage, Andrea leads classes in creative empowerment and natural medicine. Open your visionary pathways and balance your energy centers while you experiment with plant extracts in the form of essential oils, CO2 extracts, and resins–all of these part of a natural perfume.  Discover the deep, woody base notes, the flowery heart notes, and the light citrusy top notes of your favorite scent. Allow your most primal sense to awaken your heart’s truest manifestation on canvas. Every participant will have the chance to create their own natural perfume with Andrea’s guidance. Andrea will have a sample of her botanical creations and art for sale.

Una Viggiani is an artist, yogini, world traveler and inspired instigator. She earned a degree in Fine Art from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and her Masters degree in Education at the University of Denver, but ultimately learned the most traveling the world on a solo journey that lasted two years and took her to 22 countries. She discovered yoga as a way to balance the demands of teaching, but it soon became much more than that. Yoga became a way of life for Una and making the shift from art teacher to yoga teacher came naturally. Now, she combines her love of art, yoga and travel by teaching workshops and organizing retreats allowing the physical, creative and spiritual realms to merge into one.

Marnie Recker is an artist and freelance photographer and has attended all the Soul Portraits Retreats. Over the years, her photographic and technical skills have become integral to the retreat experience. Marnie works one on one with participants to make sure they have a great reference photo, and assists with printing any reference photos.  She sees beauty everywhere. Even in the darkest of places. “I am goofy, intuitive, romantic and creative. I believe problems are opportunities. I work hard and dream big. I am passionate about creating images that are testimonials to the spirit and art of life.”

As a dance shaman, temple keeper, and sonic alchemist, Lyndsay Lila loves to provide space for activation, connection and remembrance. Lila has been facilitating Kundalini Dance classes, workshops and retreats for the last 9 years in British Columbia, Bali and around the world. She actively holds ecstatic dance spaces, through Dance Temple, a weekly ecstatic dance journey on Salt Spring Island and Victoria, BC. As a facilitator, she loves to lift, inspire and hold space for transformation through deep journeys of breath, sound and movement. Her offerings bring a nurturing and playful spirit and inspire others to connect with their own joy, passion and authentic selves. She infuses ceremony into all she offers as a devotion to the divine and desires to create safe and sacred spaces for self-healing and presence. She loves to support others on their journey of awakening so that they can feel more empowered and inspired to fully embrace and share their gifts with the world. She feels blessed everyday to be able to share this path of ecstatic embodiment that has had such a transformational impact on her life. Lila is so excited to be joining this retreat to share her love of dance! Weaving together an ecstatic dance journey to to inspire, uplift and explore new ways to move your body. Co-creating a safe and sacred space to feel, to be, to express and to have fun!!

The Location

Stowel Lake Farm is a unique location that welcome groups to experience the beauty of farm and community life. This naturally stunning & easily accessible location boasts bright, spacious retreat spaces, vibrant & productive organic, gourmet, farm fresh meals and comfortable, cozy accommodations.

This quiet private location lends itself well to 9 days of soul painting, connecting with artist friends, relaxing and exploring the many large perennial gardens and water features perfect for reflection and inspiration.

The beautiful, handcrafted Gatehouse will serve as the main studio space. It’s high, curved ceilings, cherry wood floors and large windows allow panoramic views of the farm and the natural environment.

We will converge and dine in the Barn building, which houses a gorgeous custom kitchen, tea bar, buffet, eating area and 2 bathrooms. The 40 year old Barn was beautifully renovated preserving original timbers and is both comfortable and lovely. The upstairs is a spacious area for dining with tables and chairs and a cozy area with couches and a wood-burning stove.

Between the Gatehouse and the Barn, there are many places to walk or sit in the well established and beautiful perennial gardens. It is a perfect place for reflection, contemplation and soul gazing. It is also home to many species of birds, insects, bees and frogs. The perennial garden was designed to have beauty in every season so it can be appreciated throughout the year.

The Farm Fresh Food!

The cuisine at the farm is outstanding with the menu changing daily to incorporate ingredients from the gardens. We work with chefs who prepare each dish with care and attention to detail. Daily meals are wholesome, nourishing and beautiful. Organic whole grains, local dairy and fresh baking complement the vegetables and fruits fresh from the farm. Our healthy and delicious meals are a significant part of the retreat experience at Stowel Lake Farm.

~ I didn’t know what to expect when I signed up for this retreat. Una had excellent communication and made the process so easy. This was the greatest gift I gave to myself. The women I met, the experiences we shared throughout our time cannot be put into words. I am transformed and so grateful for this opportunity. ~ Maria ~

~ A heart opening retreat…. Loved it! ~

~ This was so much more than an art retreat. The journey into our souls and friendships we made opened our hearts in a profound and life changing way. I am forever grateful for Autumn Skye, for her dedicated teachings and gentle loving heart. I leave feeling refreshed, deeply nourished and saturated with fond memories to carry home. ~
